In 2016, the central office building was refurbished with a complete Zumtobel Group solution and the industrial hall was modernised with the latest lighting upgrade supported by Thorn Lighting, a brand of the Zumtobel Group. The objective was to achieve a major energy upgrade and an improvement in the comfort and lighting conditions of this working environment for warehouse, shipping and semi-finished products. A delicate and complex working process in a series of industrial working environments featuring large machinery for processing with progressive technological innovation, always showing great attention to the best technologies available on the market.
A policy of constant investment in cutting-edge technology has led the company to rely on the Zumtobel Group for the refurbishment of its lighting systems for some time now. In 2016, the central office building was refurbished with a complete Zumtobel Group solution and the industrial hall was modernised with the latest lighting upgrade supported by Thorn Lighting, a brand of the Zumtobel Group. With this, a major energy upgrade and an improvement in the comfort and lighting conditions of this working environment for warehouse, shipping and semi-finished products was achieved.
The Thorn Lighting contribution included an initial in-depth energy investigation phase, to analyse both the existing system in the building and the possible diversified new-generation lighting proposals, and then carry out an accurate study of overall energy comparison. The building, measuring more than 6,000 square metres, had 121 obsolete 400 W projectors. Thorn replaced these with 84 industrial HIPAK LED30000-840 HF WD GEN3 fixtures. This is the third generation of Thorn's innovative Hipak industrial luminaire, which delivers incredible performance and a unique return on investment. It adapts easily to the performance of conventional luminaires and is the ideal choice as a replacement for conventional industrial luminaires, offering a long life time and particularly high energy efficiency of up to 147 lm/W.
The new installation of Thorn Lighting has been highly appreciated by the company both for the energy improvement obtained and for its lighting level; it has improved lighting levels everywhere allowing people to work better and more effectively, it has reduced CO2 emissions by almost 60%, but above all it has guaranteed the Lucchetti Group the fastest payback ever: thanks to important savings both on energy and maintenance, it is estimated that there will be a return on investment in little more than a year.
